The sudden look.

STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
Portraits are always special when they convey a mood. I never expected this picture would become a portrait. Because, this girl was not looking at me when i approached her. I went near her without causing attention. I thought i would get a nice candid shot with this girl. The moment i pressed the shutter button, she looked at me. When I had finished with the shutter, she started smiling at me. Awesome. I am happy that the moment can be felt in this picture. This is what keeps my street walks thrilling.

Here and there.

STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
This picture is one of my favourite candid pictures. I was drinking chai with my fellow CWC photographers when i saw this girl. She crossed me to the right and crossed again to the left. She did that several times. I wondered why she did so?. Immediately, I borrowed a friend's camera and took this shot. You can see the sweat in her forehead. After sometime, she was gone. I guess, she forgot the direction to her destination. Thanks to the girl for giving me this shot and thanks to MRK for his camera. This picture is special to me because this is my first shot with a digital SLR camera and this is very close to my heart.

To pierce the sky.

STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
Taken at Thiruporur murugan temple, near chennai. It was during a CWC photowalk on a fine sunday morning. The weather was good and fortunately we had a clear sunrise that day. The temple pond glittered in the rays of the rising sun. The diving kids, washing ladies, praying people, the smell of the flowers, and the smiling faces all made a wonderful feeling there. I was roaming inside the temple looking for the subject. The spears on the gate attracted me. First, I dint notice the spear on the vimana. Later, when I realized the spear in the background, I wished to make a frame with them. The curve on the ceiling added geometry to this picture. It is my most satisfied picture of the walk.

Raising through.

STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
Myself along with my friends vasi, ibrahim, mike and kanth hiked the top of the reddiyarpatty mountain in Tirunelveli. I pre-visualized the sillhouette in this image, but the pose of both the guys were instantaneous. The sun was setting down faster, so we had a very little time to shoot. I feel that the human scale makes this picture intersting because it creates a mood as if the guy is growing rapidly against his competitors. It is ibrahim on the near side and kanth on the far side. I love sillhouettes and this image is one of the best in my collections.

The joy of jumping high.

STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE
I took this picture near cheranmahadevi river, tirunelveli district in the month of november. The sky was dull and unpleasant that day. But the tree-environment attracted me. While wondering about how to make a good photograph there, I came across a tree trunk which was cut to the bottom. Still it was about a metre above the ground. So I asked Vasi to stand on the trunk and jump high stretching out his arms and legs. Infact I showed him a demo to stretch like this. I was lying flat on the ground while i took this picture. Ofcourse, I used the on-camera flash. Took as many as 20 attempts, finally this shot worked out. And thanks to Dr.Ibrahim for his safe drive.
